Baseball Game Preview: Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks vs. Randolph Southern Rebels

The Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Randolph Southern Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mississinawa Valley will be strutting in after a win while Randolph Southern will be coming in after a loss.

Mississinawa Valley's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Bradford.

The result came thanks to Cole McGlothlin's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up 17 Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caleb Spradling, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Ty Houser also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Randolph Southern was not able to break out of their rough patch last Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Wapahani, falling 18-1.

Randolph Southern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Wolfal, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Randolph Southern's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mississinawa Valley, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

Mississinawa Valley took their victory against Randolph Southern when the teams last played back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 18-8 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blackhawks since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
