Softball Game Preview: Dudley Panthers vs. Atkins Camels

The Dudley Panthers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Atkins Camels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Atkins took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dudley, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 14 losses in a row dating back to last season, Dudley turned things around against Western Guilford on Thursday. They blew past the Hornets 19-10. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Atkins fell victim to Eastern Guilford and their airtight pitching crew last Thursday. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 7-0. The Camels have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Atkins saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aniston Pennington, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Atkins' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Dudley, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
