Recap: Brookwood Panthers vs. Hueytown Golden Gophers
The Brookwood Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Hueytown 60-22. Brookwood has struggled against Hueytown recently, as their game on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Brookwood saw an underclassman step up: Taylor Crummie scored eight points. Crummie continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Braylon Patton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hueytown, scoring 16 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Patton has scored at least 25% of Hueytown's points.
Brookwood's defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-10. As for Hueytown, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brookwood will take on Holt at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Holt is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Hueytown, they will be playing at home against Wenonah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wenonah has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three matchups.
