Preview: Meadow Bridge Wildcats vs. Richwood Lumberjacks
Meadow Bridge has been on the road for two straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Richwood Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Meadow Bridge is ranked 87th, while Richwood is ranked 92nd).
On Monday, Meadow Bridge was able to grind out a solid win over Sherman, taking the game 44-31.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Meadow Bridge to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lily Hayes, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Cooper, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Richwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They were dealt a 79-42 defeat at the hands of Pocahontas County. Richwood was down 59-34 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Meadow Bridge's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Richwood, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 12-8.
Meadow Bridge strolled past Richwood in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 46-28. Will Meadow Bridge repeat their success, or does Richwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
