Softball Recap: Parker Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Parker had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Wenonah Dragons as they made off with an 11-5 victory. That's two games straight that the Thundering Herd have won by exactly six runs.

Brooke Moss was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Amayah Smith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Parker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .778. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Parker pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Wenonah, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Parker will take on Minor at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.24 runs per game on average), something the Thundering Herd will no doubt try to take advantage of. Wenonah has already played their next matchup (against Center Point), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
