Baseball Recap: Canyon View's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Canyon View came tearing into Friday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the North Canyon Rattlers as they made off with a 16-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Collin Padget looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brock Berlan, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ricardo Yuriar, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Canyon View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 12 consecutive games.

Canyon View's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for North Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
