Basketball Game Preview: Carthage Tigers vs. Republic Tigers

Carthage hasn't had much luck against Republic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Republic took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carthage, who comes in off a win.

Last Monday, Carthage earned a 43-33 victory over Joplin. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Republic came up short against Kickapoo on Monday and fell 44-36. The Tigers have struggled against the Chiefs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Republic's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Carthage, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Carthage was dealt a bruising 65-36 defeat at the hands of Republic when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Carthage avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
