League recap: Fanning races to league-leading run for Kearny

Kearny's Steven Fanning recorded the longest rushing play in Western this season in his game against Mater Dei Catholic last week. Fanning scampered for 65 yards on the play and finished with 188 on the day as his team fell to the Crusaders.

Mission Bay moved up to 299 from 356 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Buccaneers were able to make move up by besting Orange Glen 41-3.

Madison's dynamic duo of Kareem Coles and Marc Quinlin proved to be unstoppable against Lincoln, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Coles threw for 146 yards and Quinlin had 50 yards receiving. Joshua Robinson helped Madison's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 42 yards.

The Warhawks' dynamic duo of Coles and Quinlin proved tough for the Fighting Zebras to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Fanning provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Kearny lost to Mater Dei Catholic. Fanning's favorite target this week was Stephen Pulley, who caught 7 passes for 14 yards.

Coles put up the best numbers in passing as Madison defeated Lincoln.

Fanning was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Robert Eatmon added to the ground attack by rushing for 27 yards.

Quinlin was the best wideout in Western this week as Rick Jackson's team bested Ken Lowe's team.

The Warhawks' Coles and Quinlin have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Coles has thrown for 146 yards this season, while Quinlin, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 2 catches for 50 yards. Kenny Nears' team's Fanning leads the league in rushing yards with 188.

Mission Bay took down the Patriots 41-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
