Softball Game Preview: Eminence Eels vs. Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers

The Eminence Eels will head out on the road to face off against the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Eminence was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Irvington Preparatory Academy on Tuesday. The Eels blew past Irvington Preparatory Academy 19-0. The Eels' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Emma Webb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Webb was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Eminence got a massive performance out of Khloee Kirk, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most hits Kirk has posted since back in April of 2024. Jillian Henderson was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple.

Eminence was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .719. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Indiana School for the Deaf earned a 29-24 victory over Waldron on Monday.

Eminence's record now sits at 2-3. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Everything went Eminence's way against Indiana School for the Deaf in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Eminence made off with a 14-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
