Softball Game Preview: Keyport Raiders vs. Long Branch Green Wave

Keyport is a perfect 4-0 against Long Branch since May of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Green Wave at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Keyport and ten for Long Branch dating back to last season.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Keyport's offense. They lost 15-0 to Liberty on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Trinity Hall hit Long Branch with a seven-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Green Wave came up short against Trinity Hall, falling 14-4.

Keyport's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Long Branch, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything went Keyport's way against Long Branch in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Keyport made off with a 14-4 victory. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Green Wave turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
