Baseball Game Preview: East Ridge Knights vs. Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks

The East Ridge Knights will head out to take on the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Ridge hasn't scored more than two runs for six games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

East Ridge might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to Apopka, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

East Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haisum Osuna, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Charter Academy had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 12-7 win over Four Corners on Wednesday.

Zach Krueger was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Santiago Carruci also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-10. As for East Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

East Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Cornerstone Charter Academy in their previous matchup on March 5th, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Ridge since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
