Basketball Recap: Hunter Fike's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ascend Leadership over Triangle Math & Science + How To Watch

Ascend Leadership was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 45-35 to the Triangle Math & Science Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Aviators of the 52-44 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Ascend Leadership's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Fike, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Omar Rodriguez, who had seven points.

Jailen Hawkins went supernova For Triangle Math & Science., dropping a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards. Ayyoub Baianonie was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Ascend Leadership's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Triangle Math & Science, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Ascend Leadership wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-26 win against Haw River Christian Academy on the 21st. As for Triangle Math & Science, they have also already played their next game, a 57-54 loss against Excelsior Classical Academy on the 19th.
