Recap: Pender Pendragons vs. Stanton Mustangs

The Pender Pendragons put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Stanton as Pender made off with a 62-37 victory. Considering Pender has won six matches by more than 24 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Pender got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hadley Walsh out in front who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Walsh pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Wegner, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds.

Despite the loss, Stanton still got an impressive performance from Rebecca Stoddard, who scored 15 points.

Stanton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Pender pulled down ten offensive rebounds.

Pender pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.56 points. As for Stanton, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pender will be home for the holidays to greet Bancroft-Rosalie on Tuesday. Bancroft-Rosalie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 204 points over their last three matches. Stanton and Wisner-Pilger will face off on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wisner-Pilger and Stanton are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
