Recap: Inglewood Sentinels vs. Leuzinger Olympians
The Inglewood Sentinels won the last time they faced the Leuzinger Olympians, and things went their way on Friday too. Inglewood snuck past Leuzinger with a 27-23 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Inglewood.
Damon Wrighster had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 101 yards on only six carries, and also threw for 232 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.
Damonte Bias and Journee Tonga certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Bias rushed for 158 yards and two touchdowns, while Tonga rushed for 151 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. Bias was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.
Inglewood's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Leuzinger, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Inglewood will take on Morningside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morningside is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Leuzinger, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Hawthorne will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 800th, while Leuzinger is ranked 57th).
