Dan River is 8-2 against Nelson County since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wildcats will challenge the Governors at 7:00 p.m. Nelson County took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Dan River, who comes in off a win.

Dan River gave up the first runs last Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on Gretna with a sharp 9-2 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Nelson County was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Appomattox County.

Nelson County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was George Knight, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Dan River now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Nelson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Dan River beat Nelson County 6-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Governors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
