Basketball Game Preview: East Hall Vikings vs. Cherokee Bluff Bears

East Hall hasn't had much luck against Cherokee Bluff recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The East Hall Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the Cherokee Bluff Bears at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

East Hall is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Monroe Area: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that East Hall blew Monroe Area out of the water with a 73-38 final score. Winning may never get old, but the Vikings sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Meanwhile, Cherokee Bluff blew past West Hall, posting an 86-28 win. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Spartans are ranked 381st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cherokee Bluff is also on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for East Hall, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.

East Hall came up short against Cherokee Bluff in their previous matchup on January 9th, falling 76-72. Can East Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
