Baseball Recap: Percy Sutton Victorious

Percy Sutton's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the Esperanza Preparatory Academy Eagles by a score of 11-6. The high-scoring effort was just what the N/A needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Jan Manuel Collado Duran and Yoel Ventura were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Collado Duran didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Ventura struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). At bat, Collado Duran went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Ventura got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Juan Mendez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Dalin Luzon was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
