Basketball Recap: Shawnee Mission North Comes Up Short

Shawnee Mission North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 81-56 to the Olathe North Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Eagles are ranked ninth).

Shawnee Mission North's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Olathe North, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Coming up, Shawnee Mission North will challenge Olathe Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shawnee Mission North knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Olathe Northwest likes a good challenge. As for Olathe North, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lawrence. Olathe North has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
