Briggs entered their tilt with West on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Cowboys a 15-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 last Monday.

Brailyn Hernandez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Mitskevich, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Briggs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Wyatt Martin was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Briggs was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .583. The last time their batting average was this high was was before the start of last season.

Briggs' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for West, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
