Basketball Recap: Geneva Takes a Loss

Geneva lost against Batavia back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Geneva Vikings fell to the Batavia Bulldogs 43-39. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 41st).

Kaidyn King had a dynamite game for Batavia, going 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points along with five assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Hallie Crane, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Geneva has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Batavia, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Geneva has already played their next contest (against Wheaton North), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Batavia has also has no score uploaded for their next match, this one against St. Charles North.
