Baseball Game Preview: Utica Chieftains vs. Grosse Pointe North Norsemen

Utica hasn't had much luck against Grosse Pointe North recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Chieftains will head out to face off against the Norsemen at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Utica is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Saturday. They fell 5-2 to Utica Ford.

Jimmy Lasceski was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Berkley hit Grosse Pointe North with a four-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Norsemen took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears.

Jacob Jarackas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of DJ Edwards, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Grosse Pointe North has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Utica, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
