Football Game Preview: South Hills Huskies vs. Los Altos Conquerors

For the first time this season, South Hills will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Los Altos Conquerors at 1:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

If Los Altos heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when South Hills took over last week. The Huskies took down Santa Fe 34-20 two weeks ago.

South Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyler Arguinzoni, who rushed for 83 yards and two scores. That's the most rushing touchdowns Arguinzoni has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacob Gallardo, who rushed for 96 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Hills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 325 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Los Altos put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on California with a sharp 52-27 win. The Conquerors pushed the score to 52-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Condors cut but never quite recovered from.

South Hills better keep an eye on DIEGO CASTILLO. He was instrumental in Los Altos' win, throwing for 252 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, while also punching in one score on the ground. EVAN ROJAS helped CASTILLO out on the ground, picking up 80 receiving yards and one TD, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.

Los Altos' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for South Hills, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

South Hills strolled past Los Altos in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 38-21. Do the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Conquerors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
