Basketball Recap: St. Edward Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Edward). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 83-81 victory over the Sandusky Blue Streaks on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Sandusky still got an impressive performance from Jason Henlon, who went 8 of 17 en route to 21 points along with eight assists and eight boards. The contest was Henlon's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amir Aaron, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

St. Edward pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.6 points per game. As for Sandusky, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Edward will welcome Berea-Midpark at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Sandusky, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Perkins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sandusky is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 72 points per game this season.
