Volleyball Recap: Somerset College Prepartory Academy South Starts Season with Victory Against Academy for Innovative Education

Somerset College Prepartory Academy South gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past the Academy for Innovative Education Aviators 3-0. The Patriots were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Aviators, so the Patriots were just returning the favor.

The final score came out to 25-10, 25-4, 25-20.

Isabella Gonell paced Somerset College Prepartory Academy South's offense, picking up six kills. Gonell got some help from Makayla Cordova and her eight assists. Gonell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Coincidentally, Somerset College Prepartory Academy South and Academy for Innovative Education will both be playing Somerset Academy South Homestead the next time they take the court. The Aviators will head out to face the Hurricanes at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Patriots will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
