Delaware Academy is 10-0 against Walton since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Delaware Academy posted their closest win yet this season on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 victory over Sidney.
Meanwhile, Walton can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 54-22 win over Oxford Academy. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-10.
Walton found their leader in underclassman Grace Walley, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Walley has scored at least a third of Walton's points. Kennedy Williams was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Delaware Academy's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. As for Walton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
Delaware Academy beat Walton 43-34 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Walton's Jacqlyn Gransbury, who scored 14 points along with eight steals.
