Baseball Game Preview: Hermitage Panthers vs. Meadowbrook Monarchs

The Hermitage Panthers will head out to square off against the Meadowbrook Monarchs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hermitage took on Glen Allen on Friday. The Panthers came up short against the Jaguars, falling 14-3. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost eight in a row.

Hermitage saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Legano, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Noah Dabney also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Meadowbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to Dinwiddie.

Meadowbrook's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Hermitage, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hermitage has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Meadowbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Hermitage's way against Meadowbrook in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, as Hermitage made off with a 15-3 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Monarchs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
