Long is a perfect 4-0 against Carroll since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Long Rebels will challenge the Carroll Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Long fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Providence Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Rebels couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Carroll came up short against Zion Chapel on Tuesday and fell 9-4. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Rebels: they've now lost three in a row.

Long's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Everything went Long's way against Carroll in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as Long made off with a 13-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Long since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
