Basketball Game Preview: California Pintos vs. Boonville Pirates

The California Pintos will challenge the Boonville Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

California is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 19, 2024 on Monday. They lost 66-41 to Skyline.

Meanwhile, Boonville entered their tilt with Tri-County on Monday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They claimed a resounding 75-37 victory over the Mustangs. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while the Mustangs are ranked 394th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

California's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9. As for Boonville, their win bumped their record up to 14-8.

California took their victory against Boonville in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 60-40. Will California repeat their success, or does Boonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
