After a string of 11 wins, Russellville's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (6-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The result was an unpleasant reminder to them of the 6-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2018.

Russellville's defeat dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Normal West, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Russellville will square off against Lawrence County at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Normal West, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-6 loss against Centennial on the 31st.
