Basketball Preview: Field Kindley Golden Tornado vs. Columbus Titans

Field Kindley is 0-3 against the Titans since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Field Kindley Golden Tornado's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Columbus Titans at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Columbus took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Field Kindley, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Field Kindley beat the Dragons 41-37.

Meanwhile, Columbus was beaten by the Panthers 53-24 on Friday. Columbus has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Columbus' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ellie Helms, who scored nine points along with two steals, and Ava Harman who scored three points. Helms hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Columbus struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Field Kindley's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4. As for Columbus, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.

Field Kindley might still be hurting after the 58-35 loss they got from the Titans in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Field Kindley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
