'Straight baller' is a big play specialist one of the nation's best teams.

According to 247Sports, Northwestern (Miami) senior wide receiver Romello Brinson is a "big target with long arms and a long stride." On Friday, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound University of Miami commit will get his chance to take down a big time opponent when the sixth-ranked Bulls (1-0) travel to No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) (6-0).

Regarded as one of the nation's top 25 senior receivers, Brinson showed his penchant for big plays last week in a 21-14 win over then-No. 10 Central (Miami), scoring the first touchdown of the game on a 77-yard catch and run.

Northwestern is coming off three straight state championships, including a Class 5A crown last season when Brinson had 43 catches for 834 yards and eight touchdowns.

How to watch

No. 6 Northwestern at No. 1 IMG Academy
Date: Friday, Oct. 30 Time: 7 p.m. ET
Location: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)

"Brinson is a straight baller," MaxPreps national football editor Zack Poff said. "He's one of the most dynamic playmakers in the country. He can take it to the house anytime he touches the ball."

That won't be easy against the Ascenders, who have more talent than any team in the country. They possess 26 players with at least three-star status, including all four players in the secondary. Among that group is five-star junior safety Kamari Wilson, four-star cornerback Markevious Brown and Kansas-commit Omar Burroughs, another safety. Last year, IMG Academy defeated the Bulls 24-7 in Miami.
