Baseball Game Preview: Smiths Station Panthers vs. Central Red Devils

Smiths Station is 1-9 against Central since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m.

Smiths Station managed to slip by Opelika the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers lost 13-1 to the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Central had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Patriots.

Central pushed their record up to 24-7 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Smiths Station, their loss dropped their record down to 12-18.
