Softball Recap: Georgetown Takes a Loss

Georgetown couldn't beat Blanchester on Friday even though they stacked nine runs on them in the first inning. The G-Men came up short against the Wildcats, falling 20-10. The G-Men were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Carolyn Edmisten and Chloe Inlow did some serious damage despite the final result: Edmisten went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Inlow went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That stolen base was Edmisten's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Vest, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Georgetown's record is now 2-11. As for Blanchester, their record now sits at 6-9.

Georgetown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 victory against Felicity-Franklin on the 23rd. As for Blanchester, they have also already played their next match, an 11-10 loss against Norwood on the 19th.
