Basketball Game Preview: Gompers Prep Academy Eagles vs. Monarch Royals

Gompers Prep Academy hasn't had much luck against Monarch recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gompers Prep Academy Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Monarch Royals at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Gompers Prep Academy is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They were outmatched by San Diego Academy and fell 59-15.

Monarch played against Bayfront Charter and lost via forfeit.

Monarch is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 6.43 points. As for Gompers Prep Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Gompers Prep Academy came up short against Monarch in their previous matchup back in January of 2020, falling 23-14. Can Gompers Prep Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
