Basketball Game Preview: Navarro Panthers vs. Fredericksburg Billies

The Navarro Panthers are taking a road trip to face off against the Fredericksburg Billies at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Navarro is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Wimberley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Navarro came up short against Wimberley, falling 60-38. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1043rd, while the Texans are ranked 260th).

Meanwhile, Fredericksburg suffered their biggest defeat since January 30, 2024 on Friday. They lost 52-31 to Canyon Lake. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Billies' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Navarro's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Fredericksburg, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-14 record this season.

Navarro beat Fredericksburg 44-37 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Navarro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
