Softball Recap: Johnson Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Johnson had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Dripping Springs Tigers. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

Brianna Kirkup led a balanced Jaguars bullpen and pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kirkup has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kiersten Williams was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn De La Fuente, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Johnson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dripping Springs only posted a batting average of .120.

Johnson's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Dripping Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-8-1.

Johnson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dripping Springs, they will welcome Stony Point at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
