Baseball Recap: St. Anne's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Anne extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 12-8 in the process. They came out on top against the Grant Park Dragons by a score of 5-1. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

Jacob Onnen made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Preston Harrington-DeWitt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Andy Cintora also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

As for Grant Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

On Grant Park's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey McGinley, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

St. Anne will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Dragons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
