Softball Recap: Silver Wins Going Away Against Santa Teresa

While Silver put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Santa Teresa. The Fighting Colts blew past the Desert Warriors 20-0. The Fighting Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Ariel Alvarado made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Alvarado was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Silver got a massive performance out of Elena Morales, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Morales has posted since back in March. Sophia Nemeth was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Silver was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Silver pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Santa Teresa, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Silver will have a chance to go back-to-back against Santa Teresa: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
