Football Recap: Sheridan Comes Up Short

Sheridan lost against Benton back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Yellowjackets were outmatched by the Panthers and fell 87-42. The Yellowjackets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 66-28.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Barksdale, who threw for 448 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.9 yards per attempt. Another receiver making a difference was Dylan Smith, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

This is the second loss in a row for Sheridan and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Benton, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Sheridan is set to square off against their familiar foe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Benton will challenge rival El Dorado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
