Basketball Recap: Castle Wins Going Away Against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter

Castle was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter on Friday. The Castle Knights were the clear victor by a 76-55 margin over the Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Knights have posted since December 3, 2024.

Castle had a senior duo take command as Aiden Meyer went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and Xander Niehaus almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. The contest was Niehaus' third in a row with at least ten points. Jakob Wongler was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Castle was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Devin Bolden and Nathan Smith certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Bolden dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards, while Smith went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Smith has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marshawnn Henderson, who posted seven points.

Castle's record is now 5-7. As for Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3.
