            Volleyball Preview: Tomahawk Hatchets vs. Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers        
        
		
        
        
            The Tomahawk Hatchets will head out on the road to  take on  the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The  squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Tomahawk has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Wittenberg-Birnamwood will arrive with three straight  victories.
On Tuesday, Tomahawk didn't have quite enough to beat Medford and fell  3-2.
 In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Tomahawk sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-17, 24-26, 25-19, 21-25,  15-5.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood not only won  on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win  since September 16th (when they won  3-0). They put the hurt on Weyauwega-Fremont with a sharp  3-0 win.
 Wittenberg-Birnamwood never let Weyauwega-Fremont on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-14,  25-17.
 Tomahawk's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.
 Tomahawk skirted past Wittenberg-Birnamwood  3-2 in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hatchets since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
