Basketball Recap: Grand Junction Central Falls Despite Big Games from Adam Tabora and Blake Rooks

Grand Junction Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 63-41 to the Grand Junction Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 43-32 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Blake Rooks and Adam Tabora certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Rooks went 6 for 13 en route to 18 points, while Tabora posted 11 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave Tabora a new career-high in assists.

Grand Junction was led to victory by Will Weirath and Andrew Henderson. Weirath went 6 of 9 on his way to 17 points, while Henderson went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Grant Lewis, who put up 11 points.

Grand Junction Central's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Grand Junction, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-6.

Grand Junction Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-58 victory against Battle Mountain on the 28th. Grand Junction has also already played their next game, a 60-52 loss against Uintah on the 25th.
