Basketball Recap: Gilead Christian Comes Up Short

Gilead Christian was the 43-30 winner over Kingsway Christian when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Gilead Christian Eagles fell 48-41 to the Kingsway Christian Eagles on Saturday. Gilead Christian has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Gilead Christian lost, don't look at Talan Blankenship. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Blankenship a new career-high. Diesel Myers was another key player, putting up seven points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Even though they lost, Gilead Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Gilead Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Kingsway Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Gilead Christian will venture away from home to square off against Senedot Stripes at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Kingsway Christian and Varsity Opponent will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
