Baseball Recap: Pine Crest Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pine Crest can now relate to. They fell just short of the Killian Cougars by a score of 8-7 on Tuesday. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 8-5.

Micah Billig made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Baker, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Pine Crest's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7-2. As for Killian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13.

While Pine Crest had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
