Softball Game Preview: Frontier Titans vs. Bakersfield Christian Eagles

The Frontier Titans will take on the Bakersfield Christian Eagles in a tournament on Friday. Bakersfield Christian took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Frontier, who comes in off a win.

Frontier had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on Independence with a sharp 22-0 win.

The team relied heavily on Bailey Freeborn, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Keira Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

Frontier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Independence only posted an OBP of .182.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Bakersfield Christian's offense. They lost 12-0 to Centennial on Thursday. The Eagles' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Bakersfield Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miley Franco, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double was Franco's first of the season.

Frontier came up short against Bakersfield Christian in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, falling 5-2. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
