Baseball Recap: Maclay Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Maclay couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors by a score of 3-2 on Monday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Marauders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Jack Koon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Maclay's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Trinity Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.

While Maclay had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
