Softball Recap: Chesterfield Comes Up Short

Chesterfield came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Hartsville Red Foxes, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Foxes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on April 3rd.

Chesterfield's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11-1. As for Hartsville, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chesterfield will face off against Andrew Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hartsville, they will take on West Florence at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Red Foxes' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
