Wilson lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lakewood, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Tigers' defense stepped up to hand the Gators a 26-0 shutout on Friday. That 26 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Wilson, bringing their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average over those games. As for Lakewood, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Wilson will head out on the road to square off against Hartsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will need to watch out since the Red Foxes have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Lakewood, they will welcome Darlington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
