Football Recap: Sandy Creek Skates Past Upson-Lee with Ease + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sandy Creek). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-7 victory over the Upson-Lee Knights. With the Patriots ahead 28-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Amari Latimer was his usual excellent self, rushing for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 67 receiving yards and one TD. His longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hill, who threw for 246 yards and three TDs on only 19 passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sandy Creek was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 237 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Nicholas Wells and Jayden Skelton certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Wells threw for 119 yards and one touchdown, while Skelton picked up 78 receiving yards and one score.

The win keeps Sandy Creek at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average this season. As for Upson-Lee, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
