Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Michael Mccullough and Nathan Yerkes Lead Washington School for the Deaf to Victory

Washington School for the Deaf's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against Easton by a score of 39-28. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Terriers considering their 13-point performance the matchup before.

Leading Washington School for the Deaf to victory were Nathan Yerkes and Michael McCullough. Yerkes rushed for 169 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries, while McCullough gained 128 total yards and three touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Yerkes a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Washington School for the Deaf was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 300 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 181 rushing yards in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Washington School for the Deaf now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Easton, they dropped their record down to 0-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington School for the Deaf will head out to take on Lake Quinault at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Easton, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wishkah Valley at 1:00 p.m. on the 18th.
